A new book, edited by Vincent Nadin, Giancarlo Cotella and Peter Schmitt, entitled ‘Spatial Planning Systems in Europe. Comparison and Trajectories’ is out, published by Edward Elgar. The book builds on ESPON COMPASS project in which I took part. I am a co-author of one of the chapters critically overviewing how integration of policy sectors, adaptive approach, and citizen participation have been embraced in European countries, using the data from COMPASS planning experts questionnaire.

As an invitation to read the book, here are some words of praise from Prof. Andreas Faludi: ‘This book offers a comprehensive comparison of spatial planning as practised throughout Europe. Hailing from its various corners, the authors cast their nets wider and offer a veritable compendium of the state of the art.’
